What we do

We collaborate with all Portuguese municipalities to improve their urban cleaning activities, promoting cleaner cities and beaches, with less single-use plastic waste. Único represents the commitment of tobacco companies to prevent and clean up the incorrect disposal of tobacco products in the urban or natural environment.

In this integrated management system the responsability for the end-of-life of the products is transferred to Único, which ensures compliance with legal obligations, coordinates urban cleaning activities with municipalities and organizes awareness campaigns. 

The license to manage this system determines certain conditions, such as objectives, targets, activities and reports to the Portuguese Environment Agency.
